HIGH PRESSURE VENT TIPS High pressure "T-burner" type vent tips, also referred to as "Sonic Vent Tips", are customarily used on offshore platforms. Their design utilizes the high-pressure flow available from many production units to improve dispersion of the gas vapors. The gasses exiting at velocities beyond the speed of sound can travel farther away from the platform, reducing the required size of the flare or vent boom. High-pressure vent tips allow for much smaller and shorter boom supports. High-pressure vent stream is required for their use. The standing pressure wave inside the tip prevents damage to platform as a result of sonic changes in exit velocity. High exit velocity results in much lower radiant heat values near the base of the flare or vent boom. These vents are easily equipped with thermocouple temperature sensors to warn of high heat when ignited at lower exit velocities. Flame quenching systems are easy to incorporate for extinguishing burning hydrocarbon vapors. Pressure tip design requires minimal "sweep gas" when not in use. top

CONSTRUCTION Upper portion of tips constructed of high temperature 310 Stainless Steel alloy for long life. Material thickness of .188" minimum adds to longevity. Flange connections are standard raised face flanges for ease of maintenance. All carbon steel portions are commercial sandblasted, then coated with inorganic zinc primer. A topcoat of high temperature aluminum based paint or paint to match client specification can then be applied. up top
